Software Developer for db4o Open Source Java and .NET object database, focussing on replication and synchronization technologies, including the db4o Replication System, powered by Hibernate, and the Sync4o connector, based on Funambol/Sync4J
Location
Work from home, in any country.
Need to have a highspeed internet connection.
Travel Involved
2 internal developer conferences a year, anywhere in the world

Level
4 years+ experience as a professional software developer
Experience Required
2 years+ Java development.
1 years+ Hibernate development.
C# experience very desirable.
Specific experience in distributed data management and replication technologies desirable.
Proficiency in the use of Eclipse.
Proficiency in the use of Subversion/SVN.
Proficiency in the use of unit testing.
Proficiency with profiling applications for memory usage and speed.
Multiple years of experience with at least one database system.

Work in an innovative and dislocated team that does 99% of it's communication over
the internet.
Understand, maintain and contribute to the core or periphery of the object database
system db4o.
Maintain a very high level of software quality by using XP technologies.
Provide some support for db4o to stay in touch with your users.
Requirements
Must be able to lead a project and manage the delivery of all aspects of a project reliably including documentation, user support, and bug tracking.
Must be self-managing with excellent time management skills.
Must have excellent written communication skills and be able to provide a track
record (past newsgroup-/forum-postings.)
Must have self-discipline with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience contributing to or maintaining open source products is a plus.
Experience developing object databases and/or O-R mapping tools is a plus.
